Let''s look at John McCain on the war.

This, along with the fact that he'll be the first one to tell you he doesn't really know economics all that well, plus the fact that he was one of the Keating Five, makes me wonder why anyone thinks this man would be any better, or any different, than the bunch of monkeys we've got in there now. I keep hearing that he was "trying not to make waves" and was "doing what was good for the party". Maybe the "maverick" reputation comes from his well-documented habit of losing his temper with people at the drop of a hat.

But more likely, this business about how he doesn't really mean it was a PR stunt. My belief, however, is that the best predictor of future behavior, in most cases, is past behavior. My SUSPISCION, in McCain's case, is that we're looking at another Reagan wannabe. That's scary.

They claim to have resurrected the car.

But the apartment maintenance guy told the manager he was unable to find anything wrong in my bathroom.

Obviously, the mouth-breathing git didn't LOOK at the ceiling, as it is soaking wet and DRIPPING water into the tub.

The upside is, if they don't fix it FAST, I can throw a fit and see about getting out of my lease early.  This crap is getting old.

I have a headache now.

I don't like today.  My car broke down on Friday and it's going to cost about $800 just to get it running again (broken timing belt, destroyed the tensioner and the tensioner bearing, etc., etc.  Suppose I should be glad I'm not paying thousands for a new engine or a whole new car.  Bleh).  I acquired the money, in the form of a loan from the First National Bank of Dad.  He doesn't charge interest or report me to the credit bureaus.  I hate borrowing from family and friends though.  Thank god I'll be able to pay him back relatively quickly.  Boo on this shit.  BOOOOOOO!!!!

Also, there was water dripping out of my ceiling above my shower this morning.  Boo on that too.  Thank god I don't own the place, or I'm sure I'd have to go out and sell a kidney or something.  Assuming my kidney is worth anything at this point.  The complex just called and told me that it's the regular maintenance guy's day off so they're calling someone from another property and are hoping he'll be able to get to it today (!).  I've already had problems with leaks in the ceiling twice.  When is it that we learn the value of fixing it right the first timee?  Fucking cheapskates.  If it doesn't get fixed by tomorrow, I'm demanding to be put up at the Four Seasons until their work passes muster.  Yes.  I DEMAND IT!!!  Or maybe find me an available 1-bed somewhere NOW so I can reduce my space/rent soon instead of waiting for my lease to be up.

No longer do I feel like I've been stomped by a team of angry mules.  A couple of doese of Bactrim have made a big difference.  Also, capsaicinoidwas awesome and brought me dinner and lots of healthy live-culture yogurt and fruit and things last night and hung out for a bit, which made me feel a lot better.

Och, but I am still so tired.  I'll be keeping it low key this weekend.  Might be adventurous enough to get over to Epoch for a chat with some people, but that's about it.  This non-stop illness crap is getting very frustrating.
